冬の晴天に恵まれた12月15日（土）、第2回留学生文化研修会が行われました。留学生20名が参加し、川内原子力発電所展示館と旧増田家を研修しました。
展示館では、実物大の原子炉模型などが展示してあり、原子力発電の仕組みを分かりやすく紹介していました。また、2階の展望室からは原子炉建屋がよく見えました。
旧増田家は、明治6年頃に建てられた「おもて」と「なかえ」、大正7年の石蔵、大正期につくられた「浴室・便所」で構成されていて、昔の有力者で裕福な人の暮らしぶりがわかりました。展示品の中には西郷隆盛直筆（レプリカ）の書もありました。
参加した学生たちは、「川内原子力発電所展示館の展示物の大きさにビックリしました。」、「旧増田家の建物の複雑さに驚きました。」などと、興味を持って学習した様子でした。
今回の研修は、原子力発電の仕組みや、明治から大正時代の日本建築のすばらしさを認識し、地元の案内の方々との交流もできて、実りの多い研修会でした。

On Saturday, December 15th, Culture Workshop for Foreign Students was held in fine winter weather.  Twenty foreign students participated. They toured and learned about the Sendai Nuclear Power Plant pavilion and the Old Masuda House.
In the pavilion, the nuclear reactor models were displayed, showing the structure of the nuclear power generator.  The nuclear reactor building could be seen very well from the second floor of the sightseeing tower.
‘Old Masuda House’ was comprised of ‘Omote’ and ‘Nakae’ which were built around 1873,  a stone storehouse built in 1918, and bathroom from the Taisho era, showing the living of rich and influential people at that time. There was Takamori Saigou’s handwriting (replica) among the display, too.
The students who participated said,  ‘We were surprised at the size of the showpiece of the Sendai Nuclear Power Plant pavilion’,  and ‘ We were surprised at the complexity of the building of the Old Masuda House’.
They learned the splendor of the Japanese buildings from Meiji and Taisho era, and the structure of nuclear power generation plant. There was a meaningful exchange with local people.
